Good care and maintenance of the skin and coat allows the horse to remain clean and healthy – so top-notch equine grooming products are key.

Cowboy Magic Rosewater ConditionerIt is always best to use an equine specific shampoo when bathing, such as Cowboy Magic Rosewater Shampoo, Cowboy Magic Shine In, Yellow Out, or Absorbine Showsheen Shampoo.

Using equine-specific shampoo is kinder to our horses’ skin, and prevents problems such as itchiness or dryness, whilst protecting the pH balance of the skin.

Alongside shampooing, owners can use a conditioner or treatment in tails such as Cowboy Magic Rosewater Conditioner which can help resolve tail tangles caused by winter mud, wind and rain.

Tail hairs may break when they are brushed if they are dirty and tangled, so the cleaner they are, the fewer hairs will break off.

(Customers can use the shampoos mentioned here on coats, manes and tails! Obviously detanglers and polishes are designed for manes and tails only however, as they may make the saddle area slippery).

After washing and conditioning the tail, customers can also apply a detangling spray such as Cowboy Magic Detangler & Shine (pictured) or Absorbine Showscreen Detangler and Hair Polish throughout the tail, and leave to absorb for around 5 minutes.

Comb from the bottom up to get it really tidy and detangled. Then using a soft brush or a wide toothed comb, the product is brushed through the wet tail, and allowed to dry.

Testimonial: “My mare has a mane that tangles into knots even when it’s not windy; went out with Cowboy Magic Detangler& Shine expecting it to perform no better than the countless others I have tried… how wrong was I?!

It’s a clear liquid gel & only a tiny bit’s needed; I worked it into the sizeable knot the size of a small mammal in her mane, & worked it in; in no time at, I managed to easily work the knot out… it left her mane silky, & it hasn’t tangled in the last 2 days, despite gale force winds 24/7… highly recommended!”
